The Blackstone Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 47th annual Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Activities will include arts and crafts, vendors, food, entertainment, car and tractor show, Civil War reenactment and much more. Admission is free.

Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland visited several friends at The Woodlands in Farmville on Saturday, Aug. 27.

Our sympathy is extended to the Hudgins family, of Richmond. Charlie Arthur Hudgins, age 95, died Wednesday, Aug. 3. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends here and abroad.

The Powhatan Lions Club is once again hosting Labor Day Fest 2016 Monday. Activities will include a parade at 11 a.m. with food vendors and more, at 2834 Old Buckingham Road, Powhatan.
