4-H offers afterschool cooking

The 4-H Short Chef afterschool cooking series will be held Tuesday afternoons, Oct. 11 and 25 and Nov. 8 and 22.

Each session will be held in the Cumberland Extension Office basement from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The program is open to Cumberland youth ages 9-13 who would like to have a great time learning to cook delicious food. A different food item will be cooked each session for tasting and taking home.

The fee is $30, which covers food and supplies. The registration deadline is Sept. 30.

The 4-H The Cloverbuddy afterschool cooking program will be offered to youth ages 5-8, also on Tuesday afternoons, Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6. Each session will be held in the Cumberland Extension Office basement from 3:30-5 p.m. Participants will focus on cooking, food and nutrition. The cost is $21 for all three sessions to cover food and supplies. The registration deadline is Sept. 16.
