Margaret Miller Gunter, 86, of New Canton, was born December 24, 1929, the daughter of the late Carl and Virginia Newton Miller. She went to her eternal home on Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Margaret worked for Uniroyal in Scottsville for 32 years, until her retirement. She was a hard worker, a true taskmaster when she needed to be, a dear and loyal friend, sister, mom, grandma and GG! She is going to be missed by so many! She was a woman with a lot of love for most everyone. She loved to shop, go out to eat, talk on the phone, watch the birds and go out for the occasional pedicure date with “another daughter,” Brenda Hayton. But more than anything she loved our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a faithful servant who loved being at church, loved reading her Bible and telling you about her heavenly home that waits for her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Larry) Hagyari of Jefferson, Pennsylvania and Rosemary (Andy) Evans of New Canton; grandchildren, Pam G. Gregory (David), Amy H. Crilley (Matt), Steven Hagyari (Katie), Maggie Evans and Patrick Evans; great-grandchildren, Ryan Lloyd (Brenda), Jessie Lloyd (Tyler Layman) Jackson Evans, Troy, Tristan and Tessa Crilley; great-great-grandchildren, James and Carson Lloyd and Kayleigh Summer Layman; two brothers, Avis and Jimmy Miller, and three sisters, Martha (Dookey) Snoddy, Ethel Landes and Amanda (Lolly) Morris; many nieces and nephews and her fur-friend, “Sunshine.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two sons, Steve and Mike, all of New Canton; five sisters, one brother; and her special friend, Junior Worley.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, August 10 at Calvary Baptist Church. Visitation will begin from 10 until 11:45, prior to the service. Pastor Ben Brewer and Chaplain Jim Blackwell will be officiating.
