Members of the Farmville High School classes of 1947, 1948 and 1949 reunited at Merk’s Place in Farmville on June 28.
Twenty-one former students and their guests attended.
There were four classmates from the Class of 1947: Dorothy Brisentine Campbell, Kenneth Brisentine, Woodrow Townsend and Nolan Skinner.
Seven classmates from the Class of 1948 attended: Alice Linkins Senger Bartlett, Flora Woodson Bolt, Martha Alice Wilson Thompson, Betty Day Frank, Zella Scruggs Penel, Joyce Smith Pitttman and Sydnor Newman.
Two members from the Class of 1949 attended: Edna Clabo Wood and Earl Mottley.
The table arrangement included orange flowers in a black container, which were the school’s colors, made by Rochette’s Florist in Farmville. They were presented to Kenneth and Bettye, who had been married the longest out of the group — 65 years. Woodrow and Dora Towsend came in second place, having been married 64 years.
Bolt read a list of the 14 classmates who had died since the last reunion was held in 2011.
