Drinking water clinic for homewners

Affordable water testing and educational information about water quality and private water supply system care and maintenance will be offered for homeowners through the Virginia Cooperative Extension office in Buckingham County in October.

Water samples, collected by participating homeowners, will be analyzed for 13 parameters, including total coliform bacteria, E. coli, pH, nitrate and hardness. The cost is $52. All information is kept strictly confidential and results are reported only to the homeowner. Those wishing to participate must pre-register by Sept. 30.

A kickoff meeting will take place Oct. 25 at 6:30 pm. at Buckingham Agriculture Bldg. 54, on Buckingham Lane in Buckingham. Those wishing to participate must attend this meeting to submit a sample. Samples will be collected Oct. 26 from 7-9 p.m.
