APPOMATTOX — The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance will host a forum for candidates seeking to replace U.S. Rep. Robert Hurt in the House of Representatives.

The event will be held on Monday, Sept. 26 at the Appomattox Inn & Suites at 7 p.m.

“The Fifth District election in Virginia has earned national attention as a key congressional race,” the alliance stated on its website.

State Sen. Tom Garrett, a Republican, will face Democrat Jane Dittmar in November.

Hurt announced last year he would not seek re-election to the House.
