Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Frankie Jones, of Wingina, Monday, and Marie Adams, of Farmville, Wednesday.
Visiting in the home of Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, Sunday afternoon were Chyenne Marion, of Cumberland, Josh Gentry, of Louisa, and Linda Lipscomb, of Cumberland.
Loaves of Love food pantry, operated by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2294 Cartersville Road, is designed for Cumberland County residents, which includes Cartersville. The next food distribution will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. You must bring in two forms of ID, your photo ID and proof that you reside in Cumberland, such as an electric bill, tax bill or voter ID.
Due to the heat in the summer months, appointments are recommended, however, walk-ins are accepted. Please call Jessica to schedule your appointment and for further information at (804) 512-7547 or Barry at (804) 492-5806. Your tax-deductible donation is appreciated and will help obtain more food. All food boxes are severed on a first-come first-served basis.
Prayers go out this week to all those who are sick and shut-in.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited the homes of Lyn and Denise Hill and Betty Atkins, of Farmville, on Saturday. A nice visit was had by all.
The Cumberland County Community Food Bank, partnering with the Central Virginia Food Bank, a FeedMore Program, of Richmond, will be distributing food to Cumberland County residents, including Cartersville residents, on Monday from noon until all food is gone at the old Cumberland County Elementary School cafeteria next door to the gym, located at 1874 Anderson Highway.
You must have already registered to get food or you must see director Jerry Seal. All food recipients are asked to bring bags.
Also, on Monday, you may apply for USDA foods if you have not already done so. Those of you who have already applied and have been approved will be able to pick up your USDA food along with your other regular food.
For further information, contact Seal at (804) 492-4207 or Barry Miles at (804) 492-5806.
