Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to the following: Faye Marion, of Cumberland, and Susan Absher, of Dillwyn, both on Saturday; and Sam Givens on Sunday.
A bridal shower was held on Sunday for Casey Marion, of Cumberland. A large crowd attended.
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will host its regular monthly meeting Monday at 5 p.m. at Vito’s Italian Restaurant on route 60 in Cumberland. This is Dutch treat, so everyone needs to plan to pay for their own meal.

Maranatha Baptist Church, 2204 Tuggle Road in Farmville, will host a Southern Gospel Music Singing featuring “Smokey Wilson” of Concord on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Come one and all and enjoy an evening of great Southern Gospel Music.
Following this will be refreshments in the church fellowship hall.

Cedar Baptist Church, 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, would like to invite everyone to its homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 7, beginning with Sunday School at 10 a.m., worship service at 11 a.m. with lunch served immediately following worship service. There will be a song service at 1:30 p.m. featuring “Faithful Praise” of Waynesboro.
The Rev. Roger Roller, from Forest, will be conducting the revival services Monday, Aug. 8 through Friday, Aug. 12.
The services will begin each night at 7 p.m. with special music. On Monday, “Second Time Around,” of Buckingham, will perform. On Tuesday, “Smokey Wilson,” of Concord, will perform. On Wednesday, “Saints Rest,” of Liberty University, Lynchburg, will sing. On Thursday, the Dillwyn Baptist Choir will perform, and on Friday will be the “Antioch-Scottsville Praise Band.”
