FARMVILLE — No one spoke during a hearing on the Farmville Town Council’s proposed fiscal year 2016-17 $26.4 million budget Wednesday.
The budget includes no tax or fee increases, according to town documents, and keeps the 12-cents per $100 real estate tax rate, business personal property rate at $1.50 and a 27-cent-per pack cigarette tax.
The budget is substantially more than last year’s because of the inclusion of anticipated federal grants for planned projects, according to Town Manager Gerald Spates.
The council is set to adopt the operating budget Wednesday.
