Mary Smith, vice president of the Kappa Rho Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, recently planted perennial flowers at the Virso Recreation and Community Center in Meherrin. The activity was one of many to landscape certain areas around the center. On April 16, sorority members donated a bench to the center as part of AKA’s 1908 Playground Project to ensure adults and children have a safe and enjoyable park environment. Pictured is Smith.
