Longwood hands out awards

- Natalie Joseph receives the Dan Daniel Senior Award for Scholarship and Citizenship from Reveley.
During Longwood University’s May 14 commencement exercises, President W. Taylor Reveley IV presented several students and faculty members with awards for academic excellence and community service. Longwood awarded 940 bachelor’s degrees during the undergraduate ceremony and 184 master’s degrees the previous evening.
Dr. Kevin Doyle received the Faculty Teaching and Mentoring Award.
Dr. Michael Mucedola received the Student-Faculty Recognition Award. Pictured presenting him with the award is Hailey Gilbert. Reveley looks on at left, while Dr. Jim Jordan looks on at right.
Catherine McCormick received the Longwood Graduate Student Award. Not pictured are Meredith Peck, who won a Graduate Leadership Award, and Melissa Ridley Elmes, who won a Graduate Alumni Award.
Taylor Ann Liptak, middle, was a co-winner of the Sally Barksdale Hargrett Prize for Academic Excellence (highest GPA). Pictured are Reveley, left, and Provost Dr. Joan Neff, right. Not pictured is Monica Vroomen, a co-winner of the prize.
Dr. Lissa Power-deFur received the Faculty Research Award. Not pictured is Dr. Larissa “Kat” Tracy, who also won a Faculty Research Award.
Carol Pippen received the Lancer Graduate Student Award.
