A Longwood University student died in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday.

According to Longwood President W. Taylor Reveley IV, Shiv Sharma died in an accident about 40 miles from Farmville.
Sharma was a sophomore, Reveley said in his email to students.
Sharma was a “vibrant figure on campus who was a sophomore political science major from Springfield,” he said.
“For all of Longwood today, it is a time to mourn this great loss. As we hold Shiv’s family in our thoughts, please also care for one another, in the tight-knit spirit that marks the heart of our university.”
