In March, master gardener Liz Dunn, left, spoke to the Weyanoke Garden Club on “All Things Tomato” at the home of Elizabeth McCutchen, center, with Karen Haupt, right, co-hosting. Dunn shared her experience on “how to super-successfully grow tomatoes in Central Virginia.” One of her tips was to wait until after Mother’s Day to plant. Waiting often yields tomatoes faster than planting when the soil is not warm. Fourteen members enjoyed the program and the refreshments that followed.
