Carkenord receives state forensics medal

Prince Edward County High School senior Bailey Carkenord captured the silver medal in 2A extemporaneous speaking at the Virginia High School League state forensics championship on Saturday at Clover Hill High School in Richmond. The state meet brought together almost 500 competitors within the six VHSL classifications with 10 events in each classification.
Extemporaneous speaking is based on the contestant’s knowledge of domestic and international news.
Bailey is the daughter of Diane Stubbins and Dave Carkenord, of Farmville.
