Asha Bala Krishnan and Courtney Tolton each carded a five-over par 77 to sit among the top-15, as the Longwood women’s golf team opened play at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate Sunday played at the 6,057-yard, par-72 Mimosa Hills Golf & Country Club.

Coming off her second top-10 finish of the season and a Big South Golfer of the Week honor last week, Tolton carded her fourth-straight round in the 70’s to open the tournament t-14 on the overall leaderboard.

Meanwhile, Bala Krishnan also carded a round of 77 and is tied with Tolton, one shot outside the top-10. Freshman Macey Mills recorded a season-low eight-over 80 in her opening round, as she sits t-36 on the overall leaderboard.

Longwood returns on Monday when they travel to Georgetown, S.C., for the Big South Championship.
