A 23-year-old Meherrin man is dead following a single vehicle crash on U.S. Route 360, less than one mile east of state route 630 in Prince Edward County.

Le’Trell D. Jones died at the scene after being thrown from the vehicle, said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.

The crash occurred Friday at 3:25 a.m., Geller said.

“A 2002 Ford Taurus was traveling west on Route 360 when it ran off the left side of the highway. The car overturned through the median and came to rest in the eastbound lanes of Route 360,” she said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
