March of Dimes recently presented Central Health/Centra Southside Community Hospital with a $15,000 Baby Basics Moms Club grant on Feb. 23. Before Baby Moms Club, also known as Baby Basics Moms Club of Virginia, focuses on providing educational services and support to pregnant women by working with community partners to establish ‘Before Baby’ Moms Clubs across the group’s service area. There is no cost to attend and everyone receives free take-home materials that will help track through each month of pregnancy. Dads or support partners are always invited to attend with the moms-to-be. The Before Baby Program’s initiatives and goals are aimed at improving pregnancies through personal interaction, education and community.
