Hampden-Sydney College has postponed the announcement of its 25th president to Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
“Weather conditions have made it unsafe for the president-elect and his family to fly this morning for our planned announcement,” Lee King, the college’s vice president for institutional advancement.
The announcement will be made on the fourth floor of the Bortz Library, which was originally planned for Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Earlier this month, college leaders announced that search had been narrowed down to three candidates.
According to Board of Trustees Chairman M. Peebles Harrison, the search team met recently to interview the three.
“Faculty, staff, students, and alumni who can do so are encouraged to attend,” King said.
Dr. Dennis Stevens is serving as interim president. Dr. Chris Howard, the college’s former president, was elected president of Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania in September.
