Former Globetrotter Melvin Adams, left, and Walker Mahan perform a trick shot. Prince Edward Middle School recently welcomed Adams to the school. His presentation was humorous, engaging and interactive. Adams, from Houston, Texas, grew up in poverty. He told the students, “It doesn’t matter where you come from; it matters where you’re going.” Adams encouraged students to never give up on their dreams because dreams do come true. Although the odds were against him in childhood, Adams persevered, and his dreams of becoming a Harlem Globetrotter came true. Adams’ engaging presentation included inviting several students out on to the court to perform basketball tricks with him.
