PRINCE EDWARD — The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to follow a recommendation from the county’s firefighters association to allocate $188,000 to the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department to finance an existing fire truck.
“In 2011, the board of supervisors approved the creation of the Fire Department Capital Expenditure Financing Fund,” stated a memorandum from County Administrator Wade Bartlett to supervisors. “In summary, the county will make available up to a total of $600,000 in low-interest financing to members of the Prince Edward Area Firefighters Association (to include Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad) for the purchase of trucks and apparatus.”
