This competition is hosted at various locations around the state each March.

At this competition ensembles are rated on their ability to perform music at various levels. The competition includes performing three prepared pieces, as well as playing a sight-reading piece. Bands and orchestras receive a rating from each of the four judges. Bands perform music from grade 1 (beginning band) to grade 6 (professional level). Fuqua’s Senior Band, performing grade 4 music, received the highest possible rating of superior from all four judges.
