Tibbs to speak on health care

Hampden-Sydney College will host E.W. Tibbs on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Crawley Forum for a talk entitled “Challenges and Opportunities with Health Care in the 21st Century.”
Tibbs is president and CEO of Centra Health. Prior to that, he had been the Centra senior vice president and chief operating officer as well as the president and CEO of Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jefferson College of Health Sciences and his Master’s in Business Administration from Averett University. He is well versed in many areas of health care from his vast experience and years in the industry.
During his talk at Hampden-Sydney, Tibbs will cover health care as big business, dealing with health care policy, leadership and careers in the healthcare arena, as well as what Centra is doing in the Farmville area. Following his 35 to 45-minute talk, Tibbs will welcome questions and discussion.
