Phillip Joe Ollie

Phillip Joe Ollie, 93, of Farmville, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond. He was born on November 24, 1922 in Claremore, OK, the son of the late Joe Ollie and Ida Mae Ollie.

Mr. Ollie proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, where he proudly earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star in honor of his brave service during the war. He began his career in the United States Army at Fort Pickett and retired from Civil Service at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances Booth Ollie, three daughters, Sandra C. Pratt (Tommy) of Newport News, Linda G. Fultz (Dave) of Smith Mountain Lake, and Audrey O. Napier (Elton) of Farmville; one son, Michael S. Ollie of Green Bay; 10 loving grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family request memorial contributions be made to the Farmville Volunteer Fire Department or the Farmville Rescue Squad.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 6 from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.
