Fork Union Baptist Church will hold an ordination and consecration service on Saturday at 2 p.m. (inclement weather date is March 5). Deacon-Elect Jessie Davis Sr., Joseph Garrett, Eric Glover, David Jones Sr., Herbert Monroe and Freddie Oliver Sr. will be ordained as deacons. Deaconess-Elect Louise Davis, Jeannette Garrett, Leneta Lawing-Jones, Alicia Oliver-Monroe and Ruth Oliver will be consecrated as deaconesses. Pastor James E. Harvey Sr. will deliver the message with music rendered by the St. Joy Men’s Chorus. Dinner will follow the service. All are invited.
