APPOMATTOX — A 47-year-old Farmville woman has been charged in connection to a single-vehicle crash that injured six people — three of which were children.
Antoinette L. Jennings is charged with reckless driving and two child restraint violations in connection to the Route 460 crash in Appomattox, reported Monday at 12:05 p.m.
“A GMC Envoy was traveling west on Route 460 when its driver lost control,” state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said. “The SUV ran off the right side of the road and overturned.”
Jennings and her five passengers — two adults, three juveniles ages 2, 7 and 13 — were all transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Geller said.
“Speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Jennings was also charged with two child restraint violations, as the two-year-old and seven-year-old were sharing a regular seat belt instead of being secured in individual child safety seats as required by state law,” Geller said.
