PE track takes fifth, 10th places at meet

The Prince Edward County High School indoor track teams recently traveled to Heritage High School for a 26-school meet, where the boys took home fifth place, while the girls team finished 10th overall.
The boys scoring was led by junior Rajai Walton, who won the high jump with a length of 6 feet and 2 inches and placed third in the triple jump with a length of 40 feet and 10 inches.
Walton also placed third in the long jump with a length of 20.25 feet.
Junior Dennis Dubose placed fourth in the 300-meter run with a time of 38.98. Junior Brandon Scott placed fourth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.88.
Lionel Bowles did not place in the top six, but his triple jump of 37 feet and 2 inches qualified him to participate in the regional meet.
The girls team placed 10th overall. They were led by sophomore Montiera Wynn, who won the 500-meter run with a time of 1:24.31. She also won the 300-meter run with a time of 44.42 seconds.
The next competition for the Eagles will take place Saturday at Fork Union Military Academy.
