Every day is a beautiful day. God blessed us with a beautiful snowfall; we are so grateful no one was hurt and the power did not go off for most of us. It is so good to be alive.

Residents on Simpson Road were thankful for the help of several neighbors who cleared driveways after the storm. It was appreciated.

Carol Ann Reynolds celebrated her 70th birthday Jan. 15 at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church in Prospect during one of the monthly dinners. She reports she had a wonderful time with so many people.

Mrs. Flora Bolt and granddaughter Jennifer Bolt attended the Farmville/Prince Edward Historical Society meeting on Tuesday night. There were many interesting items brought in for show and tell; following the meeting Flora and Jennifer had dinner at McDonald’s.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey and Mrs. Flora Bolt enjoyed lunch together at Merk’s Place on Wednesday.

It is always good when family can get together as was the case on Jan. 19 when Marsha Paulson, of Richmond, Gwen C. Paulson, of Chester, Jean P. Derrenbacker, of North Chesterfield and Margaret P. and Richard Stockton, of Tuggle, met at Cracker Barrel for lunch.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Ruth Patteson, Hilda and Scott Friend, Elfrieda Kerns, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle Sunday.

Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to worship with them. This being the fifth Sunday there will only be Sunday School.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville, 302 Industrial Park Road, invites you to worship Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
