Buckingham native Steven “Bucky” Brown scratched a $1 million winning ticket at Sheetz on South Main Street in Farmville this week.

“He claimed at our Farmville customer service center on Monday, Jan. 11,” said John Hagerty, a spokesman for the Virginia Lottery.

Brown lives in Farmville.

“He won in the Millions to the Max Scratcher game … He had a choice of taking the full million dollars over 30 years, or a one-time cash option of $766,500 before taxes. He chose the cash option,” Hagerty said.
