Farmville police are investigating two residential break-ins where numerous items were stolen from the homes.
On Dec. 10, officers responded to a reported breaking and entering in the 100 block of South Virginia Street. The incident was reported at about 10:48 p.m., according to Farmville Police Chief Curtis Davis.
“Upon arrival officers spoke with the owner who stated that their residence had been broken into and they were missing electronic items,” Davis said.
The stolen items included two televisions and two laptop computers and other electronics, he said.
“The owner further advised they had received a call from a neighbor who had observed three … males, one of which they had observed coming out the back door from inside the residence. Each were wearing dark-colored hoodie sweatshirts and each appeared to be 5 foot inches to 11 inches [tall] and were last seen walking east on Putney Street.”
Davis said while the case remains under investigation, there are no confirmed suspects.
Farmville police are also investigating a residential break-in in the 800 block of West Osborne Road, reported Dec. 8.
“The owner of the residence had returned home to discover a number items missing from the residence,” Davis said.
The investigation revealed that someone entered the home between 4:30 a.m and 6:30 p.m. and allegedly took electronics, a gun and a set of golf clubs. “The case is still under investigation with no suspects at this time,” he said.
