Bernard Lee Bibb Jr.

Bernard Lee Bibb Jr., 63, of Farmville, and formally of Lovingston, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at The University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Born July 1, 1952 in Alexandria, a son of the late Bernard Lee Bibb and Grace Thompson Bibb of Lynchburg. Bernard was a correctional officer for 19 years at the Correctional Center in Buckingham and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Lovingston.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Bernard “Bernie” Lee Bibb, III of Lovingston;  a brother, Jake Steven Bibb and his wife, Donna Faye of Lynchburg; soul mate, Sandra Carroll of Farmville

and his extended family; William “Bill” Mays and his wife, Jackie, Perkie Harris, Jackie Giles, Robert Mays, Steve Mays, David Giles and Charles Thompson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 5 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovington with Pastor John P. Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery in Lovingston.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Bernard’s memory to the National Rifle Association.
