Anniversaries, reunions and programs on holiday schedule

Here it is 2016 — where did 2015 really go? I wish for you a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
On the Sunday before Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and their children, Brianna, Charles and Christina hosted a family brunch. Invited guests were Charles’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith and his sister, Mrs. Emma Sharpe and son Jeffrey and Dianna’s mother, Mrs. Joyce Trinner. After a delicious meal the family members exchanged Christmas gifts.
Mrs. Betty Sumner hosted a birthday luncheon for Mrs. Carol Schall at Ruby Tuesday Dec. 21. Attending were Dr. William Schall and Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows.
Thursday night Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bolt, Ashley Bolt, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Mottley, Nicky Murdock and friend attended the musical “A Star Is Born” produced and put on by Central Virginia Christian School in Buckingham County and held at Jarman Auditorium, Longwood.
It was well attended. Haley and Payden Murdock participated.
Mrs. Flora Bolt and granddaughter Stacy Bolt celebrated Stacy’s birthday on Friday with lunch at Merk’s Place. On Dec. 19 Garland Woodson, Mrs. Flora Bolt and Mrs.
Ann Parker traveled to Stanardsville Baptist Church in Greene County for the family reunion of the Rev. Robert Woodson. There were about 50 people present from North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Washington D.C. and Virginia.
The Rev. Buddy Woodson and wife Lois, retired and returned to Fluvanna County a few week ago from London, England, where they had served as Baptist missionaries to the Spanish speaking people, also attended.
Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Ruth Patteson, Billy Allen, Shirley Fulcher, Hilda and Scott Friend, Elfrieda Kerns, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.
The Rev. Caitilin R. Hoy will speak at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, Prospect, on Sunday; at 11 a.m.
Calvary Chapel-Farmville, 302 Industrial Park Road, invites you to worship Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
