The monthly meeting of the Cumberland Garden Club was held Oct. 27 at the Cumberland Public Library.

Eleven members and a guest enjoyed a special arrangements program presented by Jonathan Fitzgerald, joint owner with Tracy Fitzgerald of Special Touch Designs Florist and Gifts in Dillwyn.

Jonathan’s program used a fall and Halloween theme for arrangements with flowers, greens and pumpkins.

As he prepared a display with a variety of flowers and greens, he gave tips for preparing the pumpkin to serve as a flower bowl.

Members present were President Nancy Coxon, Pat Parker, Janet Powers, Nell Spain, Georgeen Carden, Carol Allen, Claire Landis, Barbara Daniels, Hilda Nuckols, Elaine Myers, Betty Brown, guest and Carol Miller.
