Benefit dinner, food distributions on tap

Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Cheryl Miles, of Richmond, (Nov. 20); Stephanie Morris Marion, of Cumberland, (Nov. 22); Mathew Mahunik, of Brookneal, (Nov. 24); and Barbara Heifner, of Dillwyn, (Nov. 25).
Welcome home to James Boyles, of Cumberland, who was recently in Johnston Willis Hospital of Richmond. Also our thoughts and prayers go out to the sick and shut-in.
Spreading God’s Gifts, Inc. will meet Saturday at the VFW Hall, 14405 West James Anderson Highway, Buckingham. A benefit fried chicken dinner concert will be held from 5-7 p.m. with dinner from 5-6 p.m. (eat in or take out). Special music featuring Smokey Wilson of Concord will follow. Fitzgerald Baptist Church of Cumberland is partnering with Central Virginia Food Bank Feed More Program of Richmond in distributing food to Cumberland County residents (including Cartersville) on Monday Nov. 23, 1-2 p.m. at Southworth Power & Equipment, 1273 Anderson Hwy., Cumberland. You must have registered in December 2014 or you must see director Jerry Seal the day of distribution to qualify. All food recipients should bring bags.
Fitzgerald Baptist Church, partnering with Central Virginia Food Bank Feed More Program, will be accepting applications for all Cumberland County residents (including Cartersville) for USDA foods on Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at Southworth Power & Equipment Co., 1273 Anderson Hwy., Cumberland.
