Editor:
I write to urge my neighbors in the Hampden District to vote on Nov. 3 for Odessa Pride as our next representative to the Prince Edward Board of Supervisors.
During his 16 years of service, Charles McKay worked to strengthen roads and infrastructure and to ensure that students in our community had the tools and support to achieve success in school. In this open election, Pride is a worthy successor to this legacy and will represent us ably.
Pride will focus on workforce preparedness, which is much needed to bring new jobs to Prince Edward. Her years of experience as a teacher and principal give her a full understanding of our needs in this regard. In addition, Pride is a respected community leader with deep connections here. She is a member of the board of directors for Centra Southside Community Hospital and also serves as a pianist or organist for several churches.
Pride will channel her professional and public service experience to the benefit of our county by focusing on policies that enable business growth and promote fiscal responsibility.
She will work to build consensus on the board and will be a strong, clear voice for the Hampden District.
Please join my family and me in supporting Pride for county supervisor on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Thank you.
