Town council sells old library

FARMVILLE — The Farmville Town Council has sold the former Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library building at the corner of Randolph and West Third streets in downtown Farmville to the Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Plantation, Inc.

The action was taken following a public hearing on Oct. 14.

In March 2012, the town entered into a lease/purchase agreement with the firm for the building.

The town agreed to sell the building and property for $225,000, factoring credits for payments made pursuant to the current lease/purchase agreement.
