FARMVILLE — The Town of Farmville will begin its vacuum service leaf collection beginning Wednesday and continuing through Dec. 22.
“Before and after these dates, leaves must be bagged and called in for regular Monday pickups,” stated a town press release.
From Nov. 4-9, the vacuum trucks route will do spot pickup. “The whole town should be covered during the spot pickup period. [From] Nov.10–18, area one will be the focus of pickup. Area two will be Nov. 19–25 and area three is Nov. 30–Dec. 8. Dec. 9–22 will consist of spot pickup to cover town as needed,” the release stated.
Leaves must be out by 7:30 a.m. on the first scheduled day of your collection week. Residents are advised to rake leaves to the curb or to property line near the street. “Keep all rocks, branches and twigs out of your leaf piles, as they will damage the equipment. Hazardous debris must be removed from piles before leaves will be picked up,” the release stated.
A map of the areas can be picked up at the town hall or the town shop on Longwood Avenue. For more information contact the town at (434) 392-3331.
