Oscar W. McIntosh, 94, died October 10, 2015 at his home.

He leaves his wife of 66 years, Leddie (Foster) McIntosh; his daughters, Susan Lee Winstin and Elizabeth McIntosh Gunnufsen; son-in-law, Chris Gunnufsen; grandchildren, Thomas G. Brock and wife Monique, Susan E. Mellen, Carmen E. Ferraro, and Casey L. Gunnufsen; and great-grandchildren, Katie, Micah, and Nina. He was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.

Born and raised in Farmville, the son of Frank and Irving McIntosh, he had been a resident of Windsor since 1967. Mr. McIntosh was a part of the Greatest Generation. He is a proud WWII Veteran, serving in the National Guard, Army, Air Corp, and the Air Force. He was a member of the Windsor Congregational Christian Church and retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a loyal blood donor. Mr. McIntosh was dedicated to his family and community. He was always there with solid advice, a clever joke, and an ear when we needed someone to listen. He led by example, doing good for others and living life with joy. He was an inspiration and will be missed by all.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, October 14, at 1 p.m., at Windsor Cemetery, in Windsor, with Rev. Chuck Willman officiating.
