BUCKINGHAM — Annual hydrant maintenance is scheduled for Oct. 19-30 in Buckingham County.

According to a notice to county water customers, the maintenance ensures that the county has adequate fire protection to keep the fire hydrants in working order.

“During this time, you may experience some discoloration in the water. The water will still be safe for consumption,” the notice stated. “However, you may wish to consider taking precautions when laundering any white clothing. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.”

Maintenance will not be performed on weekends.
