Hazel Jones Reynolds

Hazel Jones Reynolds, 91, of Prince Edward Highway, Prospect, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at her residence.  She was the loving wife of the late Shirley Randolph Reynolds.

Born in Appomattox County, November 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Thelma Tanner and Otey Jones.  Hazel was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and a seamstress for Baldwin’s Department Store.

She is survived by her two daughters, Katherine Coleman and husband, Frank Nat and Margaret Reynolds all of Prospect; five grandchildren, Randy Reynolds, Kathy Lynne Baldwin and husband, Syd, Greg Coleman and wife, Amy Beth, Martha Holman and husband, Chris, Gayle Haga and husband, Tony;  six great-grandchildren, Aaron Reynolds, Ross Baldwin, Sydney Lynne Baldwin, Ryan Holman, Conner Holman and Nathan Haga; daughter-in-law Carol Ann Reynolds of Pamplin; numerous nieces and nephews; a special caregiver, Kitty Walker, and hospice workers, Robyn, Janice and Sherry.

She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin R. Reynolds, two sisters, Iris Carter and Hilda Jones, and a brother, Warren Jones.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Amy Beth Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at New Hope Baptist Church.
