FARMVILLE — Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has endorsed Democrat Megan Clark for commonwealth’s attorney in Prince Edward

“As an assistant commonwealth’s attorney, Megan Clark has championed efforts to make our commonwealth and our communities a safer place,” Herring, a Democrat, said in a statement.

“She has the right experience, the right priorities and a deep commitment to the pursuit of justice. Megan shares my belief that the law should be used, whenever possible, to help all Virginians, particularly those who are most vulnerable.”

Clark faces no opposition in the Nov. 3. election.

“It gives me great satisfaction knowing that Attorney General Herring has confidence in my experience and passion for making Prince Edward County a safer place,” Clark said. “Prince Edward will forever have a special place in our heart as Virginians and as Americans. I hope that my public service will inspire the next generation of Prince Edward’s leaders to act with the same bold conviction and to walk with the same purpose for the greater good as those who came before them.”
