Taking time to remember

With the recent event of journalists Alison Parker and Adam Ward being shot during their everyday work duties, people should be reminded of a few things.
We are all busy people. We all have many things to accomplish each day. We all have frustrations that distract us from what really means the most to us in life.
We need to take the time to remember what is truly important to us.
Is our work important to us? Yes. But, not as important as our family and friends. We need to remember how much they love us, and we them. We need to remember everything they have ever done for us and will do for us because they care. We need to remember to show them that affection too and not get so busy with everyday life to just give them a call to see how they are doing.
We also need to take into account something that we forget about a lot — ourselves. We need to remember to nurture ourselves and rejuvenate. If we forget to care of ourselves and only what is put in front of us at work, then we forget who we are. Our own lives should be important to us.
We need to remember to do things that we love. Whether that is spending time with family or working on a hobby we have fun doing, it would benefit people to start doing more of the things they love.
We will never know how long our time on earth will be. Shouldn’t we be caring a little bit more about the things we will miss most if gone?
