Suspect sought in Farmville robbery

Farmville Police are seeking a suspect involved in a robbery reported Tuesday night.
According to police, a man reported that he was robbed of his backpack and wallet while walking on E. Second Street near the intersection of Main Street at about 8:49 p.m.
“The victim had been walking west on Second Street near the intersection of Doswell Street when he first encountered another male walking in the opposite direction,” police said.
Authorities say the victim later observed that the suspect had changed directions and followed him as he continued to walk towards the downtown area.
“As the victim approached Main Street, the suspect ran up and demanded the victim’s backpack and wallet. The suspect did not display a weapon, but insinuated that he had one. No one was injured, and the incident is currently under investigation,” police said.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, standing about 6 feet tall with short hair and a medium build. Police say the suspect was reportedly wearing dark pants a blue-hooded sweatshirt.
