Members of Friends of Buckingham (FOB), Yogaville Environmental Solutions and the Union Hill community recently gathered at Union Hill Baptist Church off of Route 56 to protest the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline. The event joined other groups across the U.S. in Hands Across Our Land (HAOL). HAOL “promotes local community actions, which will unite citizen activists in their respective communities as they symbolically create a blockade to stop the unnecessary and unwanted onslaught of new fossil fuel infrastructure being forced on private property owners through the abuse of eminent domain,” according to a FOB release.
