Local teams gear up for Friday night

All four Farmville-area teams will be in action this weekend with Prince Edward and Cumberland looking to rebound from tough losses while Buckingham and Fuqua hope to stay on a roll with another victory this Friday.
Prince Edward at Central of Lunenburg
The Eagles ran into a powerful running attack at home against Nottoway last week and will need to shore up the defense in order to keep from dropping another district game.
The Chargers will likely pound the ball away at Prince Edward on the ground, although they have been more diverse in their offense this season.
Buckingham at Nottoway
The Knights rolled again last week in a surprisingly one-sided win over William Campbell.
The Nottoway defense is not nearly as strong as last season in stopping the run, and that should play into the strength of Buckingham.
Cumberland vs.
King and Queen
The Dukes suffered a tough loss to the Bluestone Barons last week and will look to rebound against King and Queen.
This opponent will not be as strong as the James River District teams as King and Queen was blown out by Lancaster and lost to Surry in recent weeks.
Cumberland will look to continue its power-running attack and get its defense back on track after giving up 43 points to Bluestone last week.
Fuqua at Kenston Forest
The Falcons will take on nearby rival Kenston Forest in a game that should see the Falcons stay unbeaten.
The Kavaliers are just trying to keep enough players healthy to field a team for their season.
The Falcon starters will likely see plenty of rest with the Kavaliers only having around 15 players on the team this season.
