Gospel sing, food distribution top week’s events

Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Terry Sprouse, of Buckingham, (Sept. 11); Christine Midkiff, of Cumberland, (Sept. 12) and Hilda Hicks, of Dillwyn, (Sept. 13).

Linda Miles, of Cumberland, and Angie Sprouse, of Buckingham, enjoyed a day in Richmond Sept. 3.
Special prayers go out to Angie Sprouse’s mother Sherry Scott, of Dillwyn, who has been under the weather for the past few days. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the sick and shut-in.

The ninth annual Fellowship Gospel Singing featuring Smokey Wilson from Concord will be held Sept. 18 at Becky and Linda Powell’s home on Rt. 15 a quarter mile past Sheppards Store (turn left on Rt. 709). Loaves of Love food pantry operated by the Seven Day Adventist Church in Cartersville will hold a distribution Thursday from 2-4:30 p.m. (bring two forms of ID, photo ID and proof of Cumberland residence).
