A four-alarm fire destroyed a home at 4227 Deer Run Road in southern Buckingham County on Wednesday morning. Volunteer fire department members from Farmville, Toga, Dillwyn and Prospect responded to the scene. Heavy flames and smoke were billowing from the home when crews arrived on-scene shortly after 11 a.m. No one was injured in the fire, according to Toga Vol. Fire Department Chief Caleb Bryan, and there’s no word on the cause of the fire.
