Five County Fair opens Tuesday

- Children and adults of all ages have been drawn to Five County Fair for years. Billy Barton, of Green Bay, and daughter Emma took a ride on the merry-go-round at the fair last year. Fair events begin Tuesday.
The Five County Fair will open Tuesday, and with it will come rides, kids games, food, animal shows and fun contests.
On Tuesday, the amusement rides will open at 4 p.m., weather permitting. The Petite, Little and Junior Miss Pageants will be held at 7 p.m. in the Varner Building. On Tuesday, homeschool students will be admitted free with fair tickets until 7 p.m.
On Wednesday, the midway opens at 4 p.m, with the Teen and Miss Five County Fair Pageants beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Varner Building. Students with tickets will be admitted for free until 7 p.m.
On Thursday, the midway opens at 6 p.m., with the youth dairy and goat entries accepted from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. College students will be admitted for free until 8 p.m. The dairy show will be at 4 p.m. in the Varner Building, with the youth goat show following. The talent show will be held at 8 p.m. in the Varner Building.
On Friday, Sept. 25, the midway opens at 6 p.m. The Country Music Showdown will be held at 6 p.m. in the Varner building. Friday is senior citizen’s day with admission at $2.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, the midway will open at 4 p.m. Professional wrestling will start at 8 p.m. in the Varner Building.
On Saturday and Sunday, entries for all competitions, except for flowers, baked goods and livestock will be accepted from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. On Monday, Sept. 21, entries for baked goods and flowers will be accepted from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., along with all livestock except dairy cattle. Beef cattle and sheep can be entered from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The youth beef show will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Varner Building. The youth sheep show will follow.
