Kudos to The Farmville Herald!

Friends of Buckingham applauds the editorial staff for stating “the Buckingham County Board of Supervisors needs to do the right thing and hold a matter-of-record public forum about the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP)” published online at 10:28 a.m. Sept. 3 (and in the Friday, Sept. 4, print edition).

We are hearing from constituents and citizens of their sense of being terrorized by Dominion’s lawsuits seeking to force their way onto private property, the locating of a 40,645 horsepower industrial facility within one half-mile of a community and two churches and lack of transparency regarding actual facts about the cumulative, economic and environmental impacts of this $5 billion proposal.

We find, in talking with Buckingham County residents, that there’s a lack of information regarding the possible devastating impact this 42-inch 1,400-psi pipeline and the 40,645 horsepower compressor station will have on us all here in Buckingham.

We welcome the opportunity to work with the Buckingham supervisors in producing the requested forum to give all citizens the whole story.
