Benchmark Community Bank has promoted Lee Minix from vice president, business banker to vice president, senior credit officer.
Chief Banking Officer Jay Stafford, remarked, “Lee’s broad background in credit analysis, audit, and direct business lending has given him the expertise and experience needed to fill this important position for the bank. Specializing on the credit side of business lending requires a certain set of skills that he possesses. Lee’s performance as a business banker has been strong all around, but he will be just as valuable to the bank in this capacity.”
Minix joined Benchmark in 2007 after being in banking for almost a decade. For more than half of that time, and before becoming a business banker, he was a credit analyst, a position which provided him with a strong foundation in business lending. He will draw on this experience and combine it with the front-line insight gained as a business banker to assist in the development and maintenance of a credit program that will ensure the overall soundness and quality of the bank’s business loan portfolio.
In accepting the promotion and his new responsibilities, Minix noted,
“I am both excited and honored to be asked to fill this key role for the bank. Career-wise, this could not be better for me as it takes me in a direction closely aligned with my passion for determining risk and getting businesses approved for the loans they need. I am looking forward to the challenges that the position will surely bring, but I am also confident that my analytical skills will impact the bank in a positive way.”
