Police in Prince Edward County continue to investigate a reported breaking and entering where 20 guns were stolen from a home on Bolden Flournoy Rd. on  Aug. 12.

The investigation comes after three juveniles were arrested, clearing two separately reported residential break-ins in July.

According to Major David Wilmoth of the Prince Edward Sheriff’s Office, forced entry was gained through a basement door before the guns were stolen.

In addition to the firearms, jewelry was stolen from the home, said Wilmoth. Five of the 20 guns have been recovered, and the incident remains under investigation.

The two 14-year-olds and 16-year-old are being charged in connection with a July 26 breaking and entering reported on Harris Drive in Prospect. Six guns were stolen from the home, said Wilmoth, five of which have been recovered. Jewelry was taken from the home as well.

One of the 14-year-olds also faces charges in connection to an earlier-reported breaking and entering on Oliver Rd.

Forced entry was gained through a window on the Harris Rd. incident, said Wilmoth.

The three are being charged with breaking and entering, grand larceny and larceny of firearms.
